It is usually to offer silver platted gifts.
Some of them are faithful replicas of prestigious original silver pieces belonging to our museums and monuments collections, sometimes engraved with the Portuguese Royal Coat of Arms.  
Others are contemporary recriations also based in the museums and monuments collections, such as the lidded box engraved with a detail of a vault from the cloister of the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos.
