Partnerships
Partnerships between State bodies and the civil society play a key role in safeguarding and enhancing the Cultural Heritage. The DGPC works hard to preserve and encourage different partnerships as a means of creating synergies and accomplishing results that would otherwise be very difficult to achieve.
The mission of the Directorate General for Cultural Heritage is to ensure that the cultural heritage, in its diverse aspects, is studied, conserved, enhanced and disseminated and that the movable, immovable and intangible assets are conveniently documented and safeguarded so as to be passed on to future generations. However, these noble objectives and all the initiatives found necessary to implement them cannot be secured solely by government departments. The civil society – through companies, associations, foundations – and its citizens are urged to give their contribution towards heritage preservation and enhancement. This involvement could be more effective if ensured by partnerships of
